The Portage Park District provides many opportunities for recreation, from year-round hiking, to Summer picnicking, cross-country skiing in Winter, horse trails and bicycling.

Geocaching in the Portage Parks
One of the Park District’s goals is to provide opportunities and facilities for a variety of recreational activities, such as wildlife watching, biking, hiking, picnicking and others, which do not negatively affect conserved resources. One such popular activity is geocaching, which the Park District will permit with prior written permission.
