History and Resources

This 48-acre property was acquired through a partnership with the Western Reserve Land Conservancy who received it through a donation from an area property developer and businessman. Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Wildlife has a fishing management agreement with the Park District and will assist with monitoring and lake management. It is an oasis of woods, wetlands and wildlife of the Tinker’s Creek watershed nestled in an industrial park and against the turnpike. More than a mile of hiking trails have been created with plans to add a fishing dock. The name “Seneca Ponds” is a nod to the Seneca District of the Great Trail Council of the Boy Scouts, whose scouts have helped the Park District with numerous park improvement projects over the years, including the development of this park.
